Before & After :: I heart my kitchen

:: BEFORE ::

When we first moved into the house it had ivory colored appliances that were a little outdated.  We replaced the appliances when we first moved in and had plans to replace the counter at that time as well; however, our master bath had some issues come up unexpectedly so it had to come first.  [Hmmm...maybe that should be my next Before & After post...]

See that counter top on the right...it's plywood!

Laminate counter with wood trim is impossible to keep clean!

 Yeah...there are dishes in the sink and lots of smudges on the stainless...just keeping it real!

No more plywood! YEAH!

I think I love the detail around the sink the most...

They did a fabulous job!

Anyone out there have any home improvement projects in the mix?

Addictive.

I am addicted to making argyle yarn wreathes.

I made one for Halloween. Black wreath with orange argyle diamonds and yellow contrasting yarn.

I made one for Christmas. Cream wreath with sage green argyle diamonds and red contrasting yarn.

I made one for Valentine's Day. Red wreath with pink argyle diamonds and white contrasting yarn.

Am I going to make one for St. Patrick's Day?

So excited!

This is the granite slab we picked to match our kitchen. Yes...we are THOSE people who took a cabinet door off and toted it around with us at the granite yard. Haha. I will tell ya though, it made the process so much easier and I highly recommend it if you are looking for a new counter surface.

Anyway! Today, this lovely slab of stone will arrive and be installed in OUR kitchen! Needless to say, I am super excited. Since we moved in a little over a year ago, we have been dreaming of the day we get our new counter tops (did I mention we have one counter top that is chipboard right now???). Hard to believe by 1 or 2 p.m. today it will be a reality.

In the mix.

Ok...so a new quilt is looong overdue. I just hadn't found fabric I REALLY wanted to work and devote that much time with until this past weekend. I popped into a local quilt shop to buy thread and I just decided to take a look around while I was there (I know, right???). I saw this amazing black and white moda jelly roll and I just KNEW this had to be my next quilt.

I've been putting a few blocks together here and there. I don't wanna get burnt out on this one. I just want to enjoy the process of making and seeing it all come together. But as I see it coming together it makes me just want to make more.

I'm loving it.
